The Garouda are mythical creatures, giant eagles
(and also sometimes half-man, half-bird) who are the spirits of the air
in the Buddhist and Hindu tradition.
In Thailand their name is Paya Kruth , in Tibet they are called Khyung .

The Garuda are present in the Hindu pantheon,
Buddhists but also in the Bönpo tradition.
The Garouda is often represented as a mount
either Hindu Gods such as Shiva, or Venerable Thai Masters.
In the Tibetan tradition, there are various varieties of Garouda
which can be recognized by their varied colors (black, blue, red, etc.).
