Thai amulets of the Most Venerable Luang Phor Thuat.
*
Luang Phor Thuat was born in 1582 in the town of Ban Suanchan
(Songkhla province, southern Thailand)
and presented from his early childhood various miraculous signs
(among other things, he had a jewel in his mouth at birth!).
*
Later he became a monk at Wat Sri-Yang Temple, he stayed there for 3 years
then went to Ayuthaya to continue his studies.
*
During his life he produced many miracles and proofs of his advanced realization of Dharma and eventually obtained the title "Somdej Phra Rajamuni Samiramagunupamacarya" (the highest title ever given to a wandering monk).
*
Years after his disappearance, LP Thuat continued to appear
in the dreams of his disciples and they began to make amulets
and statues bearing his likeness, this tradition
has continued over the past 500 years and is still very much alive.
*
Before his death, tradition reports that LP Thuat said
that he will protect anyone who wears an amulet bearing his image,
even if this one was not blessed
( "even a clay image made by an ordinary person"
would have been his precise words).
*
We can therefore consider that unlike other Thai amulets,
there cannot exist a "false and ineffective" LP Thuat amulet,
and so if you see an image of this Venerable that pleases you,
you can wear it with respect and have the certainty
that it will be active whatever its origin.
