🐉 Hin Phaya Nag Reliquary Pot from the Mekong Delta – Luang Phor Ngern and Sacred Serpents

This ancient reliquary pot made of dark terracotta is a piece of rare ritual power. The lid is decorated with arabesques in the form of naga serpents , symbols of protection and mystical strength, while the sides feature molded Buddhist seals. Inside lies a miniature universe: sacred sand from the Mekong River , two bronze amulets of the venerable Luang Phor Ngern beneath a naga, and most importantly, a black Hin Phaya Nag stone , found on the banks of the Mekong near Nong Khai, close to the sacred site of Bang Fae Payanag .

According to local tradition, the Hin Phaya Nag stones are generated by the serpentine energy of the Mekong nagas. Kept in this ritual pot, the stone acts as an anchor for telluric and aquatic forces , channeling the blessings of the sacred river. This unique reliquary bears witness to the syncretism between Buddhism, Lao-Thai animism, and the ancient naga cults.

Each element contained in this reliquary acts in synergy: the sand of the Mekhong purifies, the amulets of Luang Phor Ngern bring fortune and longevity, and the Hin Phaya Nag stone connects to the chthonic power of the Nagas.
