This small sacred bundle of nine magical Thai woods, Mae Mongkon , is a traditional ritual object long used in esoteric and folk practices in Thailand.
It is composed of nine blessed wood species , carefully assembled and bound, each chosen for its symbolic and phonetic resonance in the Thai language. Many of the meanings are based on ancient wordplay, where the name of the tree directly evokes a beneficial virtue.
This type of bundle is traditionally kept in an important place in the home, in a shop, or incorporated into a personal ritual space to promote luck, protection, and prosperity . It is also often found attached to the rearview mirror in taxis as protection against road accidents.
