This medal pays homage to Phan Thai Norasing , a major heroic figure in Thai history and an absolute symbol of loyalty, integrity, and sacrifice. It was consecrated in 2006 by the Venerable PhraKru Jaopor , in a spirit of protection, moral courage, and adherence to just principles.
The medal is presented in a new, custom-made reliquary of gilded metal , richly decorated with traditional multicolored enamel motifs set with sparkling stones. The reliquary showcases each face of the medal while providing lasting protection.
Life and legacy of Phan Thai Norasing
Phan Thai Norasing was a royal officer during the reign of King Suea of the Ayutthaya Kingdom. Charged with piloting the royal barge, he committed a tragic accident in a narrow passage, causing the ship's bow to break off. According to the law of the time, such an offense was punishable by death.
Despite the king's willingness to grant him a pardon, Phan Thai Norasing refused any exemption, believing that the law should apply to everyone without exception. He accepted his fate with exemplary loyalty and a strong sense of duty. His sacrifice made him a national hero, an embodiment of moral integrity and absolute respect for justice.
Even today, Phan Thai Norasing is revered as a protective spirit, invoked for righteousness, loyalty to commitments, protection in positions of responsibility, and moral strength in the face of adversity.
