Lucky charms with ancient Chinese gaming tokens

These two lucky charm pendants are made from ancient Chinese ceramic gaming tokens, probably dating from the late 19th or early 20th century. These small popular objects, linked to the world of gambling, luck, and auspicious Chinese symbols, were then mounted as pendants to be worn as personal talismans.

The first token depicts a butterfly, a traditional symbol of happy transformation, lightness, love, and happiness. The second shows a peach, a fruit of longevity and health in Chinese symbolism. On the reverse, each token features a Bagua-type Chinese symbol, recalling the world of feng shui, protection, and energy balance.

Features:

  • 💫 Benefits/powers: gambling luck, prosperity, protection
  • 📐 Dimensions: 3 cm in diameter
  • ⚓ Weight: approximately 13 grams
  • Reliquary: New custom-made stainless steel reliquary decorated with traditional motifs.

These ancient tokens bear witness to popular Chinese and Sino-Thai culture, where objects related to chance, games, and fortune symbols were often imbued with protective meaning. Once mounted as pendants, they become hybrid objects, both historical traces, lucky charms, and talismans of good fortune.

🌟 Worn close to the heart, these ancient tokens seem to preserve the echo of Chinese gambling houses, red lanterns, and discreet prayers addressed to fortune. The butterfly opens the way to favorable changes, while the peach recalls health, long life, and the benevolent protection of ancient Chinese symbols.
