✨This small reliquary pot in Japanese ceramic is a unique piece dating from the 1970s to 1980s . Originally intended for food use, it has been respectfully reused as a container for Buddhist relics .
The pot is shaped like a pumpkin and is brightly colored – red, yellow, green, and white – typical of Japanese pottery from this period. Inside rests a sacred geow-style bead , surrounded by multicolored sarira relic beads.
The set is accompanied by an old photograph depicting a Buddha , also dating from the 1970s. Despite research, the precise identity of the Buddha and its exact provenance could not be established, which adds to the intimate and mysterious dimension of this set.
