Original fortune amulet, composed of a 1 baht coin and an old nail from a pawnbroker's office, in a watertight reliquary filled with blessed oil and gold leaf.
This talisman was composed by an Ajarn from the Ubon Ratchathani region, and with its reliquary has a rather military appearance (if you don't pay attention you might think it was a medal).
The ancient tradition of Thai magic believes that the materials (mainly metals, but wood or tiles are also considered) that make up a building accumulate the energies of that building, for example the materials of a temple are known to have accumulated the merits of the monks' prayers. In the same way, the materials coming from an old bank, or a pawnbroker are known to have been in contact with wealth for a very long time and to have become "fortune magnets".
